OPPO Brings Reno15 Series and Watch S to Kenya in Push for AI-Powered Creativity

OPPO Kenya has launched the new Reno15 Series in the local market, alongside the OPPO Watch S, strengthening its ecosystem play as competition in the premium smartphone and wearable space intensifies.

The Reno15 Series includes three models — the Reno15 Pro 5G, Reno15 5G and Reno15 F 5G — positioning itself as an “all-in-one creative partner” for content creators, vloggers and everyday users.

At the centre of the launch is imaging and AI-driven creation, with OPPO introducing a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera across the range.

With a 100-degree field of view, the new selfie camera allows users to capture group shots, wide scenes and vlogs without the need for selfie sticks.

OPPO says the feature is designed to support solo creators by fitting more context into a single frame, even in challenging lighting conditions.

On the rear, the Reno15 Pro 5G stands out with a 200MP ultra-clear main camera, while both the Pro and Reno15 5G models feature a 50MP telephoto portrait camera with a periscope lens tuned to an 85mm focal length for professional-style portraits.

AI tools such as AI Portrait Glow, Popout effects, Motion Photo Eraser and Motion Photo Slow-Mo aim to simplify editing, often with a single tap.

Beyond cameras, endurance is a key selling point. The series packs batteries of up to 6,500mAh paired with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, allowing users to shoot, edit and stream without frequent recharging.

The devices run on ColorOS 16, powered by OPPO’s new Trinity Engine and Luminous Rendering Engine for smoother performance and long-term reliability, with OPPO offering up to six years of protection certification.

Design also takes centre stage. Inspired by the aurora, the Reno15 Series features a one-piece sculpted glass back and a Dynamic Stellar Ring camera module.

The Reno15 Pro 5G sports a compact 6.32-inch display aimed at one-handed use, while the Reno15 5G and Reno15 F 5G feature larger 120Hz screens at 6.59 inches and 6.57 inches respectively.

All models come with high levels of water and dust resistance — IP66, IP68 and IP69 — and Splash Touch technology for reliable use with wet hands.

Alongside the smartphones, OPPO also unveiled the OPPO Watch S, its thinnest smartwatch yet at 8.9mm. Built with a stainless-steel body, the Watch S features a 1.46-inch AMOLED display delivering up to 3,000 nits of brightness.

It supports advanced health and fitness tracking, including ECG monitoring, professional running modes, badminton tracking, sleep analysis, stress monitoring and a 60-second wellness check.

Users can also make calls and receive notifications directly from the watch.

The OPPO Watch S will retail at KES 24,999 and will be available from 24 January 2025. The Reno15 Pro 5G is priced at KES 84,999, the Reno15 5G at KES 74,999, and the Reno15 F 5G at KES 59,999.

OPPO is also offering pre-order incentives, including a power bank and one-year screen and liquid protection plans, as it seeks to boost early adoption in the Kenyan market.
