LG Electronics East Africa has expanded its push into the region’s enterprise technology market with the launch of a new portfolio of AI-powered commercial solutions aimed at helping businesses cut energy costs, automate operations and improve efficiency.
The company, together with regional distribution partner Opalnet, unveiled the business-focused technologies during a showcase attended by developers, engineers, distributors and enterprise customers, signalling a stronger focus on East Africa’s fast-growing business-to-business (B2B) technology market.
The new portfolio targets key sectors including hospitality, commercial real estate, healthcare, logistics, retail and public infrastructure, where demand for energy-efficient and intelligent building technologies continues to rise.
Among the products introduced are AI-enabled commercial laundry systems, energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions, intelligent building climate management technologies, commercial kitchen appliances, high-capacity cold-chain freezers and a flagship 100-inch QNED commercial display.
LG said its latest commercial HVAC systems, powered by Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Multi V™ technologies, are designed to reduce electricity consumption while providing intelligent climate control for large commercial buildings.
The company’s commercial washers and dryers incorporate artificial intelligence to optimize fabric care, lower water and energy usage and improve operational uptime for hotels, hospitals, serviced apartments and institutional facilities.
Speaking during the launch, LG Electronics East Africa Marketing Lead Jane Kariuki said businesses across the region are increasingly seeking technology solutions that improve productivity while lowering operating costs.
“We are trying to help our B2B partners grow their businesses. We understand that some may face financing challenges, which is why, together with Opalnet, we have established financial partnerships to support them. Beyond that, we offer the technology, technical training and after-sales support needed to help them grow,” she said.
Kariuki noted that successful digital transformation requires localized partnerships that address the unique operational challenges facing East African businesses rather than simply deploying global technologies.
Opalnet Managing Director Rakesh Singh said enterprise customers are increasingly prioritizing long-term reliability, technical support and lifecycle value over upfront procurement costs.
“Most of LG’s latest products are AI integrated, and we are actively working with LG to ensure these technologies are available to Kenyan businesses. Advanced technology alone is not enough without strong local engineering support and customization,” he said.
Under the partnership, Opalnet will provide technical consultation, installation, preventive maintenance and after-sales support to help enterprises maximize the performance of the new technologies.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend in East Africa, where businesses are accelerating investments in AI-enabled infrastructure and smart building technologies to improve operational efficiency while reducing total ownership costs amid rising energy prices and increasing pressure to modernize facilities.
