V Squared Networks Introduces Reliable Event Connectivity Platform
Nairobi-based internet service provider V Squared Networks has launched a dedicated event connectivity solution aimed at addressing one of the most common frustrations at Kenya’s festivals, concerts and large public gatherings — unreliable internet access.
The company says the new service is designed to provide high-speed, scalable internet infrastructure capable of supporting between 500 and more than 5,000 attendees, ensuring organisers, vendors and festivalgoers remain connected throughout an event.
The launch comes as Kenya’s entertainment and events industry increasingly relies on digital ticketing, mobile payments and social media engagement, placing greater pressure on existing mobile networks during major gatherings.
Speaking,V Squared Networks Chief Executive Officer Fred Macharia said that the event connectivity solution has already been deployed at several major cultural and entertainment events including Purple Parade, Mataha Festival, Ndumo Festival, Ngemi Homecoming and Mathaga Festival.
“We realised that connectivity at events wasn’t being treated as infrastructure. It was being treated as an afterthought, and attendees were paying the price every single time,” said V Squared Networks Chief Executive Officer Fred Macharia.
Chief Technology Officer Martin Njau said traditional mobile networks often struggle when thousands of users attempt to connect within a concentrated venue.
“Large public events create unique network challenges because conventional mobile infrastructure was never designed to support thousands of people trying to access data services in the same place at the same time. Dedicated event infrastructure solves that challenge,” Njau said.
Beyond internet access, the service includes pre-event site assessments, network testing, dedicated on-site technical support and post-event connectivity reports to help organisers improve future events.
Director of Infrastructure Daniel Mungai said preparation remains critical to successful event deployments.
“Every event presents different connectivity demands depending on venue layout, expected attendance and digital requirements. Our teams conduct extensive planning and testing before gates open to ensure a seamless experience throughout the event,” Mungai said.
The company has also introduced dedicated bandwidth allocation for vendors and payment systems to reduce transaction delays and prevent service interruptions during peak hours.
Director of Operations George Chomba noted that connectivity now plays a central role in event operations and customer experience.
“Reliable internet impacts everything from ticket verification and access control to vendor sales and audience engagement. When connectivity works, organisers can focus on delivering memorable experiences rather than resolving technical challenges,” Chomba said.
The company further emphasized internet safety across its deployments through secure, password-protected networks and active monitoring systems designed to protect users and organisers alike.
V Squared Networks says the initiative aligns with its broader mission of promoting digital inclusivity, extending beyond residential fibre services to public spaces and community events.
“We take digital inclusivity seriously. Events are community, and community deserves to be connected,” said Macharia.
