OPPO Kenya has launched its Reno16 smartphone series in the local market, with prices starting at Sh69,999 as the Chinese handset maker seeks to strengthen its presence in Kenya’s competitive smartphone market.

The series comprises two models, the Reno16 5G and Reno16 F 5G, which will be available for pre-order from October 26 to November 4, 2026, through OPPO stores, authorised dealers and e-commerce platforms.

The Reno16 5G will retail at Sh79,999, while the Reno16 F 5G will cost Sh69,999. Both models will be available in Pop White and Twilight Violet.

The launch adds to the company’s Reno smartphone lineup, which targets consumers seeking a combination of design, photography and everyday functionality.

The devices feature OPPO’s new 3D Pop Planet Design, which uses light and texture to create a distinctive finish on the back of the phones.

The Pop White version incorporates HoloVerse 3D technology, which uses micro-lenses to create a floating visual effect that changes with light and movement.

Both models also feature a one-piece back cover that extends into the camera module, creating a continuous surface designed to reduce dust accumulation around the camera area.

OPPO Kenya public relations manager Fredrique Achieng said the new series was designed to appeal to consumers who view smartphones as an extension of their personal style.

“Design has become an important part of how people express their individuality, and with the Reno16 Series, we wanted to bring that expression to life through a smartphone that stands out,” said Achieng.

The two models differ in screen size, with the Reno16 5G featuring a 6.32-inch display and the Reno16 F 5G carrying a larger 6.57-inch screen.

The Reno16 5G also features an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, while both devices are positioned around design, entertainment and content creation.

OPPO is offering additional accessories and services to customers who pre-order the phones during the launch period.

Buyers will receive OPPO true wireless stereo earbuds, six months of screen protection, a 10,000mAh OPPO power bank and three months of Gemini Pro with 5TB of storage.

The offers come as smartphone manufacturers compete for consumers in Kenya, where pricing, device features and after-sales support are important considerations in purchasing decisions.

The Reno16 series expands OPPO’s portfolio in the mid-range and upper-mid-range smartphone segments, with the company offering different screen sizes and price points to appeal to a broader range of buyers.
