The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) has announced a call for entries for the Class of 2025, offering aspiring filmmakers across Eastern Africa a unique opportunity to develop their skills and build successful careers in the film and television industry.
The MTF program is open to applicants from all backgrounds within the Eastern African region, whether they are young professionals seeking a career change or newcomers eager to make their mark in the TV and film industry.
“MultiChoice Talent Factory is more than just a training program; it’s a launchpad for Africa’s next generation of storytellers. We are excited to welcome a new cohort of passionate individuals who will shape the future of African film and television,” said MTF Eastern Africa Academy director, Victoria Goro.
In February a new group of 20 young filmmakers received a fully funded year of film and television training at the MultiChoice Talent Factory East Africa Academy in Nairobi.
The MTF East Africa Academy is one of three on the continent, where students spend 12 months gaining skills in screenwriting, editing, producing, and directing.

Since its launch in 2018, MTF has welcomed 240 students from across Africa, including 80 from Eastern Africa, providing them with a platform to nurture and develop their talent.
The program offers participants rigorous training, hands-on experience, and mentorship from industry experts in various areas such as cinematography, sound design, and editing.
Top-performing students will have opportunities for further training, mentorship, and internships with MTF global partners, including the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and Zee World, as well as the chance to work on productions in South Africa.
Graduates will receive accredited qualifications and have the opportunity to produce and direct short films showcased on MultiChoice platforms.
