Metrofile Kenya, a leader in information and records management, has joined forces with the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) to drive digital transformation in Kenya’s records management sector.
This initiative, aligned with the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy’s (MICDE) Strategic Plan (2023-2027), marks a significant step towards a secure, efficient, and digital-first approach to records management in Kenya.
The partnership was officially launched at the 8th annual KARMA conference held at Lake Naivasha, where officials underscored the potential for this collaboration to modernize records management across the country.
Kenya currently incurs hundreds of millions of shillings in losses each year due to outdated, paper-based systems.
Through this partnership, Metrofile’s EverFiles platform will offer innovative solutions to streamline record-keeping processes, reduce costs, and enhance government productivity.
“We are excited to bring our expertise to Kenya’s digital transformation journey,” said Jackline Mburu, Managing Director of Metrofile Kenya.
“Effective records management forms the foundation of a thriving digital economy, and with EverFiles, we’re ensuring data sovereignty and smooth access to vital information. This partnership will empower Kenyan businesses and government bodies to manage their digital assets with confidence.”
The Kenyan government has already digitized over 19,000 services to date, reflecting its commitment to transparency, accountability, and economic growth.
Cabinet Secretary Dr. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u highlighted MICDE’s dedication to advancing digital records initiatives, acknowledging the role of Metrofile and KARMA in supporting Kenya’s goals of secure, integrated data management.
In addition to streamlining records management, this partnership promotes professional growth through the Women in Records & Information Management (WORM) initiative.
WORM aims to foster knowledge-sharing, create career opportunities for young professionals, and encourage best practices within digital records management.
Metrofile and KARMA’s joint efforts represent a crucial leap towards a secure, efficient, and economically vibrant future for Kenya’s digital economy.
This collaboration will set new benchmarks for records management, establishing Kenya as a leader in the digital transformation of government services.
