How Co-op Bank Joined Ruto to Honour Teachers at Kasarani
Co-operative Bank of Kenya joined President William Ruto and teachers from across the country on Monday, October 5, 2026, to mark World Teachers Day at the Kasarani International Sports Complex in Nairobi.
The bank was represented by its Retail and Business Banking Director, Samuel Birech, who joined President Ruto in recognising teachers for their dedication, professionalism and contribution to the lives of learners across the country.
The celebrations brought together teachers and education stakeholders to recognise the role educators play in shaping the lives of millions of learners and contributing to the development of the country.
Co-op Bank said its participation was part of its commitment to supporting teachers and recognising their contribution to Kenya’s education sector.

The lender said teachers play an important role in shaping future generations through their daily work in classrooms and their continued commitment to educating and mentoring learners.
“Co-op Bank is proud to be counted a leading national institution dedicated to making the lives of our teachers financially comfortable,” the bank said.

The bank has continued to position itself as a financial partner for teachers, providing banking solutions designed to meet their financial needs.
World Teachers Day is observed annually to recognise educators and highlight their contribution to education and society.
