For many Kenyans, financial success is no longer measured only by how much they earn today, but by how well they prepare for tomorrow.

Whether it’s paying for a child’s university education, buying a first home, starting a business or enjoying a comfortable retirement, long-term financial planning is becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life. As living costs continue to rise and economic uncertainty persists, more households are looking for practical ways to grow their money while protecting their families from unexpected setbacks.

This shift is driving demand for financial products that combine disciplined saving with insurance protection, allowing people to work towards their goals without sacrificing peace of mind.

Recognising this trend, SanlamAllianz Life Insurance Kenya has introduced Flexi Future Plus, a savings and life insurance plan designed to help individuals and families build wealth over time while safeguarding their financial future.

The plan allows customers to save towards personal milestones over a period of between five and 17 years. Depending on their preference, they can make regular contributions or invest a lump sum, with guaranteed benefits payable at maturity either as a single payment or spread over three annual instalments.

Beyond helping customers save, the plan also offers financial protection through life insurance and optional benefits covering critical illness, permanent disability, retrenchment and family protection.

According to SanlamAllianz Life Insurance Kenya Chief Executive Officer Jacqueline Karasha, many people have clear financial aspirations but often struggle to find simple and reliable ways to achieve them.

“Many people have financial goals but need a simple and reliable way to achieve them. Flexi Future Plus gives our customers the flexibility to save at their own pace while enjoying the security of guaranteed benefits and insurance protection,” she said.

Financial experts increasingly encourage families to adopt a goal-based approach to saving rather than putting money aside without a clear purpose. Saving for specific milestones such as school fees, retirement or property ownership can make it easier to stay disciplined and monitor progress over time.

Another growing consideration for many households is preparing for life’s uncertainties. Unexpected illness, job loss or disability can quickly derail years of financial planning if there is no safety net in place. Products that combine savings with insurance aim to cushion families from such shocks while allowing them to continue pursuing their long-term ambitions.

SanlamAllianz Kenya Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Patrick Nyamemba Tumbo said financial security should be within reach for everyone, regardless of where they are in their financial journey.

“By combining wealth creation with financial protection, we are helping our customers prepare for tomorrow while navigating today’s realities,” he said.

The plan also includes features designed to accommodate changing financial circumstances, including premium holidays, policy loans, tax relief on qualifying policies and the flexibility to adjust policy benefits as needs evolve.
