Samsung Expands One UI 9 to More Galaxy Devices
Samsung Electronics has expanded the rollout of One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices, bringing new artificial intelligence, personalisation, security and device-management features to users.
The rollout begins with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, following the introduction of One UI 9 on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8. Samsung said the update is designed to deliver a more seamless mobile experience across different Galaxy form factors while making Galaxy AI more personal and useful.
One UI 9 introduces new tools aimed at helping users capture and manage content with less manual effort. My FanCam, for instance, automatically tracks a selected person in recorded video and keeps them centred by intelligently reframing footage as the scene changes.
The update also gives users greater control over the information displayed in Now Brief through new Generative and Editable Cards. Users can create cards covering areas such as health, weather and video, allowing daily summaries to reflect their individual interests.
Samsung has also moved device support features into the Settings menu through Warranty and Care. Users can check warranty coverage for connected devices, run diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+ and book service appointments.
The update further expands Galaxy AI’s ability to assist with everyday tasks. Now Nudge provides context-aware suggestions, such as helping users access reservation details or save a location shared during a conversation without leaving the messaging interface.
Creative Studio has also been updated to suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming events, while Interpreter gains a Thread View that allows users to follow translated conversations by referring to earlier exchanges.
Samsung said translation in Conversation Mode is also faster, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker playback, helping make translated conversations more fluid.
Other improvements include an upgraded Document Scan feature that can digitise difficult materials such as curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment. Voice Recorder also provides more structured summaries using headings and tables.
Security and privacy have received additional attention in the update. Security Brief brings alerts about issues such as malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions into Now Brief.
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including attempts by apps to access permissions in the background.
Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection to additional countries and languages, extending protection against potential scam calls to more Galaxy users in supported markets.
The company said the One UI 9 rollout will continue expanding to additional Galaxy devices.
