LG Rewards Winners in Thrilling #TrekToLove Finale at Karura Forest

Connection, teamwork and shared experiences took center stage at Karura Forest as LG Electronics East Africa and its main distribution partner Opalnet concluded the #TrekToLove campaign with an action-packed obstacle course challenge.

Launched in March, the lifestyle-driven campaign invited participants to submit videos showcasing activities they enjoy doing together, including cooking, dancing, fitness routines and travel adventures. Organizers said the campaign attracted an overwhelming response, with entries highlighting authentic stories of friendship, community and meaningful connections from across the region.

From the submissions, selected participants were invited to Nairobi for a unique obstacle course challenge at Karura Forest. The course was designed to test communication, trust and collaboration, while giving teams an opportunity to bond as they competed for prizes.

After a spirited contest, three teams emerged victorious.

Mohammed Omar and Serreti Nannes claimed the grand prize, winning a night’s stay at an exclusive hotel and an LG Bottom Freezer Fridge. Sharon Nduati and Nick Nduati finished as first runners-up, taking home a 65-inch LG QNED TV. Monique Abok and Winnie Opiyo were named second runners-up and won an 8kg LG Washing Machine.

Speaking during the event, LG Electronics East Africa Head of Marketing Jane Kariuki said the campaign was created to celebrate genuine relationships in a fun and relatable way.

“#TrekToLove was about celebrating real connections in a way that feels fresh, fun and relatable. We wanted to create something that reflects how people connect, grow and share experiences together,” she said.

She added that the initiative also reflected modern lifestyles, where shared experiences are central to connection, noting that LG aims to support everyday moments with solutions that make life smoother and more enjoyable.

Opalnet Managing Director Rakesh Singh said the campaign demonstrated the impact of giving people platforms to express themselves and connect meaningfully.

“The stories shared by participants have been inspiring, and they remind us that at the heart of everything we do are human connections,” he said.

Organizers said the campaign also underscored LG’s commitment to enhancing everyday life through innovative home solutions that support shared living experiences.
