LG Art TVs Add More Than 100 Works from Met Collection
Users of LG Art TVs can now access and showcase over 100 works of art from The Met collection, including Paul Cézanne’s 1890 painting Still Life with Apples and a Pot of Primroses (1890); Utagawa Hiroshige’s 1849-49 woodblock print, Seki; and Winslow Homer’s 1895 painting, Northeaster.
This follows a new collaboration between LG Electronics and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (Met) that envisions giving users access to a subset of premium artworks, including less-known works like William Merritt Chase’s At the Seaside (1892)andEdouard Manet’s The Monet Family in Their Garden at Argenteuil (1874).
Powered by LG’s award-winning webOS platform, LG Gallery+1, LG Art TVs transform into a personalized, digital art showcase, providing access to more than 5,000 works of art, including iconic works by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and Georges Seurat, as well as contemporary and digital-first creations.
“Through the Gallery+ platform, users are invited to select their favorite Met artworks to display on rotation, creating thematic presentations that reflect their personal style, mood, and love of art,” said Josh Romm, the Head of Global Licensing and Partnerships at The Met. “Aligning with The Met mission to share our vast collection with the world, this program provides consumers the opportunity to discover and explore a world of art from the comfort of home.”
