Social media and instant messaging service Telegram is currently not accessible via the Safaricom internet.
For the past three days, Safaricom subscribers have been complaining about being unable to load chats on Telegram.
However, the platform is accessible via other network service providers, such as Airtel.
The outage is mostly reported between 8am and 5pm.
There have been speculations that access to Telegram has been restricted in the country due to the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
This publication could not, however, ascertain this claim.
Notably, there have been several cases of examination papers being shared on the platform, aiding exam cheating.
