The country’s first Centre of Excellence in digital skills development is set to be established in Dagoretti South, Nairobi.
The state-of-the-art facility marks a significant step forward in advancing digital education, innovation, and entrepreneurship among young people.
The project is spearheaded by Jitume Digital Hubs, an initiative under Konza Technopolis, and aims to equip youth with cutting-edge technology and resources to thrive in the digital age.
The hub will feature advanced computers, high-speed internet, and specialized training programs designed to foster skills in areas such as coding, programming, and digital entrepreneurship.
The Dagoretti South hub is part of a broader nationwide initiative to establish 47 Centres of Excellence, one in each county, along with 1,450 digital hubs across the country.

The ambitious program is being implemented in collaboration with the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), the Communications Authority, Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA), Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), and other key development partners.
To date, the initiative has deployed over 20,000 devices and trained nearly 30,000 young people, positioning Kenya as a leader in digital transformation.
“This initiative is not just about infrastructure; it’s about bridging the digital divide, enhancing education, and fostering sustainable development,” said a Konza Technopolis in a statement.“With access to technology and skills, young people across the country will have the tools they need to compete in the global digital economy.”
The Centre of Excellence is expected to serve as a launchpad for innovation, career growth, and digital inclusion, ensuring that technology is accessible to all and opportunities in the digital space are limitless.
