Coldplay and FC Barcelona Unite for El Clásico with Spotify Shirt Swap

Spotify continues its unique collaboration between music and football, announcing that Coldplay’s logo will feature on FC Barcelona’s iconic shirt during the highly anticipated El Clásico match against Real Madrid on October 26th.

The logo, inspired by Coldplay’s 10th album Moon Music, marks another milestone in Spotify’s ongoing partnership with the football club.

Released on October 4th, Moon Music debuted at number one on Spotify’s global charts. Coldplay’s prominence on the platform is undeniable, holding the record as the most-streamed British band of all time, with 12 tracks in the Spotify Billions Club.

Their connection to FC Barcelona goes beyond music—Coldplay’s hit song “Viva la Vida” became an unofficial anthem for the club during its triumphant 2008–09 season.

The Coldplay-designed shirts will also be worn by FC Barcelona Femení during their Liga F match against Eibar on November 2.

As part of the collaboration, FC Barcelona will release a special edition of their popular Barça Matchday playlist on Spotify, curated by Coldplay to energize players and fans alike ahead of the game.

Fans can purchase the limited edition jerseys starting October 18 at Barça Official Stores and online, with 1899 jerseys available in honor of the club’s founding year.

Additionally, 22 glow-in-the-dark jerseys signed by both the men’s and women’s starting teams will be sold, with all proceeds going to The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), continuing FC Barcelona’s partnership with the organization since 2022.

“We’re honored that Spotify has chosen to feature our Moon Music design on FC Barcelona’s shirt. We’ve had a special relationship with the city and the club for many years. We’re also proud to support UNHCR in their life-saving work,” said Coldplay.

Marc Hazan, Spotify’s Vice President of Partnerships and Marketing, echoed the sentiment: “Coldplay is one of the most beloved bands on Spotify, and their connection to Barça runs deep. We’re thrilled to celebrate this history with fans worldwide.”

The limited edition jerseys and merchandise, including t-shirts, hoodies, and scarves, inspired by *Moon Music* and Barça’s colors, will be available for purchase starting October 18. Proceeds from the collection will also benefit UNHCR.
