The tablets are expected to be available in select markets from October 7 in Gray and Silver.
“The Galaxy Tab S12 series is designed for people who are constantly exploring new ideas, developing new skills, and bringing their ambitions to life,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
According to Samsung, the new tablets are designed to turn the large display into a mobile workstation, allowing users to combine research, note-taking, content creation and AI assistance on a single device.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab, while the Tab S12+ comes with a 12.6-inch display.

The Ultra features a larger 14.6-inch screen, with both models using Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays capable of reaching up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.
Samsung has also upgraded the tablets’ processing capabilities, with the new 3nm processor delivering up to 61 per cent faster NPU processing, 19 per cent faster CPU performance and 17 per cent improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The company said the upgraded performance is aimed at demanding workloads such as video editing, graphic design and multitasking, while a redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber helps manage heat during extended use.
Battery life has also been extended, with Samsung claiming up to 23 hours of battery life on the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and 21 hours on the Tab S12+ on a single charge. Using a 45W adapter, the tablets can recharge from zero to 100 per cent in about 95 minutes.
The devices run Android 17 with One UI 9 and come with Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI capabilities. Users can divide the display into up to three sections using Multi Window, allowing them to, for example, watch a lecture, take notes and use an AI assistant simultaneously.
Both tablets come with an S Pen designed for note-taking, annotation and drawing. Samsung is also offering accessories including the Pro Keyboard, which features a dedicated Galaxy AI Key, and the Book Cover Keyboard Slim.
The tablets also integrate Google’s AI tools, with Samsung offering a six-month trial of Google AI Pro. Users can use Gemini to explore topics, while Gemini Notebook can combine notes, images, recordings and files to generate summaries, podcasts and quizzes.
Samsung has also enhanced its browser experience to help users summarize information across open webpages and retrieve relevant information from previously visited pages.
For creative professionals, the Galaxy Tab S12 series comes with Adobe Photoshop pre-loaded, marking the first time the software has been pre-loaded on an Android tablet, according to Samsung.
The tablet also supports AI-powered Photoshop features and S Pen input, while Galaxy Tab S12 users will receive four months of free access to the Photoshop mobile plan.
Other software offers include six months of Notability, one year of Goodnotes, discounted access to LumaFusion and trials of Clip Studio Paint and Notion.
The tablets are also equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance, while Samsung has committed to up to seven generations of operating system upgrades and security updates.
The Galaxy Tab S12 series is positioned by Samsung as a device for users seeking a combination of portability and computing power, particularly as tablets increasingly serve as alternatives to traditional laptops for work, education, and creative tasks.
