StarTimes Targets Energy Reliability Gap With Hybrid Solar Launch

StarTimes has unveiled the H50 Solar Solution, expanding its product offering into the home energy space amid rising demand for reliable electricity backup solutions.

The system combines solar panels, a hybrid inverter, and battery storage to deliver continuous household power during outages, reflecting growing convergence between entertainment services and essential infrastructure.

The solution is designed for households that require uninterrupted access to both digital entertainment and everyday appliances, positioning it as a full-home energy backup system.

It is capable of powering multiple devices including refrigerators, microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, televisions, electric kettles, and lighting systems.

Myke Mwai, Head of PR and Content Syndication at StarTimes, said the launch is part of the company’s broader goal of improving customer experience through reliable and uninterrupted service delivery.

“At StarTimes, our goal has always been to ensure customers enjoy a seamless digital lifestyle. The H50 Solar Solution allows households to continue enjoying their favourite StarTimes TV content without interruption, even during blackouts,” said Mwai.

He added that the system is designed to help households manage power disruptions more effectively while maintaining productivity and connectivity.

The hybrid technology automatically balances energy sources to ensure optimal performance and reduced reliance on unstable grid supply.
