Samsung Electronics is strengthening the connection between smart home convenience and cybersecurity with a major industry first: its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, and Bespoke AI Refrigerators have achieved IoT security certification from TÜV Nord, a German certification authority.
It is the first time Samsung’s digital appliances have received TÜV Nord validation, underscoring how security is becoming as central to smart appliances as performance and design.
“As the global focus on smart home security intensifies, Samsung continues to deliver robust protection through our Knox security platform,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the Digital Appliances R&D Team at Samsung.
“This certification validates the strength of our security technologies, and we will continue to enhance differentiated protection to safeguard customer data.”
TÜV Nord certification is based on the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, which sets the benchmark for consumer IoT security across the product lifecycle — from design to daily operation.
The criteria include data encryption, secure authentication, access control, software update integrity, and vulnerability management.
With Europe sharpening its regulatory environment through the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Samsung’s move positions it well ahead of compliance deadlines.

That means safeguards like firmware verification at startup, end-to-end encryption of video and voice commands, and hardware-based protection through Knox Vault, which stores sensitive data like passwords on a secure chip.
Knox Matrix, another layer, allows devices to cross-check each other’s integrity, instantly flagging suspicious activity. For consumers, the takeaway is that smart homes are no longer just about automation and AI they’re about trust. By achieving TÜV Nord certification, Samsung is signaling that its connected appliances are ready for the next era of secure interoperability.
The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam will take the spotlight at IFA 2025 this September, while the Jet Bot Combo and AI Refrigerators are already reaching select global markets.
